It is our great pleasure to inform you that the next Agrifood Conference will be held in Bandung, Indonesia, co-organized by Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and Pusat Analisis Sosial AKATIGA.
In the hope of gaining more international participants and considering the geographical scope of the conference, the 2017-Agrifood will be officially named “The 24th International Conference of Agri-food Research Network”.
Today, more than ever, developing and developed nations are sharing closer concerns (albeit with different contexts) when it comes to food and agriculture – depletion of arable land and agricultural resources, inter-generational gap among farmers, and the changing face of global food systems. What can we do for the future of farming? What can we learn from each others? These questions have pushed organisers to develop, “Food, Youth and the Future of Farming: Towards a Global North-South Dialogue” as this year’s conference theme.
The conference will take place on 3 to 5 December 2017, with a field trip on the 2nd and a two-day pre-conference workshop for postgrads and early academics from 29 to 30 November 2017. The purpose of this workshop is to create a stronger connection between younger academics and develop skills in research and networking.
Call for session proposal:
Submit a 500 word proposal to the conference organisers by 15 March
