Seeking contributions to ‘Food Charity’ session at The 13th International Conference on Innovation in Urban and Regional Planning, Sept 8-10, Pavia, Italy

As part of the international conference INPUT 2025 – The 13th International Conference on Innovation in Urban and Regional Planning, which will take place on September 8-10, 2025,  at University of Pavia, there is a Special Session No. 16, dedicated to Food Charity.

This session aims to explore the role and implications of food charity in urban and regional planning, addressing key questions such as:

  • What are the essential characteristics of food charity initiatives?
  • Who are the key stakeholders, and what relationships develop among them?
  • What role do local governments play in promoting these initiatives?
  • Will the experiences born during the Covid-19 emergency have a lasting impact?
  • What implications do these initiatives have for food chain planning at the urban level and for urban-rural relationships?
  • What are the most exemplary case studies at the international level?

Accepted short contributions will be published in a monograph edited by Springer.
