We are delighted to announce that the next Australasian Agrifood Research Network (AFRN) conference will be held in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland from November 30 – December 4 2025.
Hosted by the University of Auckland | Waipapa Taumata Rau, the theme of the conference is: Food Origins, (Re)sources, Legacies reflecting the rich history and evolving narratives behind our food systems. We welcome participants to consider food beginnings, material sources and the sustainability of their utilisation, and lasting impacts of agricultural practices on societies and environments. By examining past legacies and present innovations, we provoke concerns for how we cultivate and consume for future generations.
The conference will commence on Sunday 30 November with a postgraduate networking session and workshop. There will be a field trip on Monday 1 December, and then the conference proper will take place over three days, Tuesday to Thursday, 2-4 December. Expect the usual Agrifood Conference activities including a welcome reception, trivia night, conference dinner and the Agribagri Awards. The conference will be in-person only (no remote delivery of papers).
