Call for contributions to a consultation on food security and trade

Quaker United Nations Office (QUNO) is delighted to announce that it has launched an online consultation on food security measures and trade, in conjunction with the FAO Global Forum on Food Security and Nutrition and the FAO Trade and Markets Division. The purpose of this online consultation, which will be moderated by QUNO, is to share experiences that may help unpack the linkages between trade rules, food security and the measures taken to support it.

QUNO and FAO would greatly appreciate your contributions to this consultation, which they hope will become a fruitful discussion on how food security measures and trade rules might be reconciled, for the benefit of small-scale farmers in agro-biodiverse systems. QUNO and FAO hope that, with your help, a knowledge base will be developed that supports our shared goal of ensuring that global governance, and in particular trade agreements and rules, reinforces and does not undermine food security.

The link for the online consultation, which will be open for contributions until early February, can be found here.
