A full PhD scholarship is available at the University of Melbourne on the project ‘Securing the next generation in farming and food careers’ (Australian Research Council Linkage project).
The PhD candidate should have a background in agriculture/rural studies (incl. rural sociology or human geography) and with an interest in rural young people’s lives and careers. Potential candidates with experience living and working in rural areas and with young people are encouraged to apply. The research will be conducted in Victoria, Australia. The PhD candidature includes a stipend of (AUD)$34,013 per year for up to 3.5 years, as well as access to operational and travel funds. The candidate will have access to the University of Melbourne’s research support resources and interdisciplinary supervision.
