Michelle is a lecturer in Media at the University of Adelaide. Her work is driven by an interest in the pleasures and politics of popular media. Her research explores how media’s intensified interest in the politics of food is shaping public debate about the provenance of food and the ethics of food production, and impacting on media, food and agricultural industry practices. She is the author or editor of four books, including Media and Food Industries: The New Politics of Food (Palgrave Macmillan 2017) and Fats: A Global History (Reaktion 2016).
