EcoFoodSystems project: Recruiting 2 PostDoc researchers on transitioning to sustainable city-regional diets

EU-IFAD funded EcoFoodSystems project recruiting two postdoctoral researchers for research to enable transitions towards city-regional diets that are more sustainable, affordable and healthy

The interdisciplinary research group of Prof. Charles Spillane in the Ryan Institute at the University of Galway (Ireland) is currently seeking to recruit two dynamic Postdoctoral Researchers to conduct research on Sustainable, Affordable and Healthy Diets for city regions, within the European Union – International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) funded EcoFoodSystems project.

By 2050, more than two thirds of the world population will be living in urban areas, the majority living in cities. The EcoFoodSystems project aims to generate data and knowledge for more effective decision-making that enables climate-resilient transitions of diets that are more sustainable, affordable and healthy in three city regions globally (Addis Ababa, Cali and Hanoi).

The successful candidate should possess excellent critical thinking skills and have the capacity to conduct cutting-edge high-impact research which provides an evidence base for informing dietary transitions for nutritionally marginalised groups (e.g. undernutrition, overweight, obese) in city regions.
